Yes. Casa de la Alberca has a lift, making it accessible to all types of guests, including people with reduced mobility or bulky luggage.

How does check-in work? Is there a receptionist?

Access is self-service (self check-in). You will receive instructions by email 24 hours beforehand, including the building access code and the key-box code. Please also check your spam folder.

What time are check-in and check-out?

Check-in is from 3:00 p.m. and check-out is before 11:00 a.m. Luggage storage is available.

How far away is the Alhambra?

The Alhambra is 874 metres uphill via Cuesta del Realejo, around a 15-minute walk (or 4 minutes by bus). It is the shortest and least busy route from the neighbourhood.

What is the cancellation policy?

It depends on the rate booked. Flexible rates allow free cancellation up to 24–48 hours beforehand; non-refundable rates cannot be cancelled.

Is there parking nearby?

Parking Ave María (Calle Molinos 63) is a 3–5-minute walk away. Traffic restrictions apply in the area from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Can I drive into the restricted-access zone without being fined?

Yes. El Realejo is a restricted-access area monitored by number-plate cameras, but you are considered a resident during your stay. We register your vehicle free of charge with Granada City Council’s Mobility Department so that you can enter without being fined. Simply provide your number plate and arrival route.

What can I visit near the apartment?

In El Realejo, just a few minutes on foot: Campo del Príncipe (2 min), Cuarto Real de Santo Domingo (5 min), Torres Bermejas (8–10 min), Granada Cathedral and the Royal Chapel (8–10 min), and the Alhambra (15 min).

The building

A Nasrid courtyard to call home

Nest Flats Casa de la Alberca is located at Calle Santiago, 9, in the heart of El Realejo, Granada’s medieval Jewish quarter. A neighbourhood of charming streets, history around every corner and one of the city’s most sought-after locations: at the foot of the Alhambra and just a few minutes from the historic centre.

The building’s most distinctive feature is its historic courtyard with stone columns, a first-floor gallery and a small stone fountain that recalls the origin of its name. This space of Andalusi origin turns every arrival into a moment of discovery. The building has three apartments on the ground and first floors, with a lift and every modern comfort.

El Realejo

Granada’s medieval Jewish quarter

El Realejo lies at the foot of the Alhambra and is the city’s old Jewish quarter. Its narrow historic streets, long-established bars and authentic local atmosphere make it one of Granada’s most distinctive neighbourhoods.

Authentic and peaceful. More local and less crowded than the Albaicín, with cobbled streets, hidden carmenes and characterful little squares.

Murals by El Niño de las Pinturas (Raúl Ruiz) can be found throughout the neighbourhood’s streets and squares: an open-air museum with a voice of its own.

Access by car: traffic restrictions from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Take exit 129 from the ring road → Recogidas → Reyes Católicos → turn right at the monument to Isabel la Católica → Pavaneras/Santa Escolástica → Plaza del Realejo → Calle Molinos → Calle Santiago 9.

Tip: park at Parking Ave María when you arrive and explore on foot throughout your stay. The entire historic centre is less than a 15-minute walk from the building.

A Nasrid palace built during the reign of Muhammad II, predating the Alhambra itself. Admission €2; free on Sundays. Included in the Granada Card and Dobla de Oro pass.
The Alhambra and the Generalife — 15 min
Spain’s most visited monument. From Calle Santiago, Cuesta del Realejo climbs 874 metres to the entrance pavilion. It is the shortest and least busy route. Advance booking is essential.
Torres Bermejas — 8-10 min
Three Zirid-era towers incorporated into the Alhambra walls. Free, unrestricted access to the exterior, with spectacular views over the city and the Vega plain.
Carmen de los Mártires — 10-12 min
Romantic 19th-century gardens on the Alhambra hillside. Free admission. Ponds, sculptures, a lake and free-roaming peacocks.

Fundación Rodríguez-Acosta — 10 min
An eclectic carmen with maze-like gardens and passageways leading towards the Alhambra. One of Granada’s most surprising monuments.
Casa-Museo Manuel de Falla — 10-12 min
A blue-painted carmen preserving the composer’s belongings as he left them when he went into exile. An intimate visit with views over the city and the Vega plain.
Cathedral and Royal Chapel — 8–10 min
Spain’s largest Renaissance cathedral and the tomb of the Catholic Monarchs. Beside them stands the Alcaicería, the old Nasrid silk market.

Torres Bermejas — 8–10 min uphill
Views of the city, the Vega plain and Sierra Nevada. Free, unrestricted access. A small gem hidden among the greenery beside the Alhambra.
Mirador de San Nicolás — 20 min
Granada’s most famous viewpoint, with direct views of the Alhambra against the backdrop of Sierra Nevada. Its sunset is one of the most photographed in the world.
Carmen de los Mártires — 10-12 min
The city views from the gardens are among Granada’s finest. Admission is free, and it is much quieter than San Nicolás.
